“Sleep deeply, live boldly”

Pranasleep

And so often my guests do just that!

Even at the risk of oversleeping and YIKES missing an Ellwanger breakfast.

But when that guest (who overslept) is the CEO of City Mattress/Prana Sleep, who has “never experienced the ultimate restorative night sleep at any other visited hospitality accommodations” (as they simply did not provide Prana mattresses), well then the Ellwanger Estate just move the hospitality bar up a notch or two!

However, Marc Schiller did share the inside scoop: Prana mattresses are coming to the Breakers Palm Beach within their Flagler Club guests rooms November 2023.

It worth taking a look!

Their ultra-exclusive 21 room boutique hotel offers:

~ “private, posh, above else, exquisitely personalized” service

~ Fully dedicated team to attend to every and any need

~ Private lounge

~ Unique food offerings

~ Complete access to the resort property and endless amenities

~ PranaSleep beds

Sound similar? Exactly!

Yes, they do have a beach.  We have lush woodland gardens, with the most comprehensive tree and plant collection around. Thank you George Ellwanger!

Looking forward to seeing you soon;-)

Ellwanger Estate Bed & Breakfast, 10th year in the making: It is the Rochester Experience

The Ellwanger Estate Bed & Breakfast is celebrating it’s 10th year in the making. More than a bed, more than a breakfast, it is the Rochester Experience. We officially open in April 2009, after three years of extensive renovations. It was pretty much abandoned and decrepit and in pretty bad shape. This historical Bed & Breakfast was originally the grandest of places called the Rose Mansion and Gardens: the spot to have elegant weddings, receptions, and overnight stays. In fact John F Kennedy Jr. has walked through these doors. The Rose Mansion and Gardens closed in the late 1980s.

The scope of the renovations was to restore the original mansion with all the latest technology. The public spaces have a museum quality with hand painted murals, chandeliers, exquisite antique furniture, and artwork, with  21st-century amenities. It’s an iconic bed-and-breakfast; you don’t see anything like this in many places. The Ellwanger Estate Bed & Breakfast was the home to the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Designer Show House in 2008. The mansion and all four guest rooms are a work of art.  This is a Rochester experience not to be missed. And you especially do not want to miss the lavish farm to table gourmet breakfast. That is a celebration in and of itself!

Wineberries, Straight From the Garden

My mother has always been a huge fan of raspberries, but I’ve always found them to be too tart. I had never tasted wineberries before my time at the Ellwanger Estate Bed and Breakfast, but I’ve fallen in love with them. They have the same fresh and sweet flavor of raspberries without the sharp tartness. I would recommend Rosemary’s garden fresh wineberries to anyone. During my time as a hospitality intern at the Ellwanger Estate, we have picked wineberries over the last couple of weeks to create wonderful fruit masterpieces, such as fruit poodles, kiwi roses surrounded by exquisite fruit mosaics and delicious and ornate fruit parfaits. Our guests have been highly impressed by our fresh organic produce, and our dedication to providing a genuine farm to table dining experience. Rosemary introduced me to wineberries, and it has been a wonderful addition to my fruit repertoire. Come and let us delight you with some wineberries at the finale of their season!

With gratitude and high hopes of meeting you!

Wellness Travelers: Are you struggling to juggle a life in balance?

The Ellwanger Estate B&B offers a destination for guests who take an active role in seeking wellness, inspiration and self-improvement for a life in balance.

Wellness has become so top of mind. And this is especially true for the traveler. As the owner of the Ellwanger Estate B&B, as well as a nurse, midwife, preservationist, farmer, and environmentalist, we are paying much more attention to wellness as a lifestyle.

As travelers, you don’t have to give up your healthy habits on the road. We have created room environments conducive to sleep, breakfast offerings and grab and go items that are healthier, and offer everything from Yoga on the lawn, mediation in the Ellwanger Gardens, run/walks on the Genesee Riverway Trail, hiking in Highland Park, to allergy-friendly rooms. Health and wellness is built into the Ellwanger Estate B&B—from in-room air purifiers, PRANA mattresses, to the cleaning products that we use. A good part of wellness is connected to creating comfortable and relaxing spaces that rejuvenate. Lighting, sound, color, the extent to which nature is brought indoors, and ergonomics all come into play. In fact, recharge your Tesla batteries while you are out playing.

The Ellwanger Estate B&B wellness lifestyle is light years ahead of the “Hotel industry”, while adding a novel and superior experience, which is good news for everyone.
